Japan to toughen penalties over drunken truck drivers
The annual number of traffic accidents caused by drunken truck drivers has remained between 30 and 50 a year since 2012.

Hideo Aoki, arrested on suspicion of negligent driving resulting in injury, has admitted to the charge, according to police.
The National Police Agency aims to have the Road Traffic Act and other relevant regulations revised to halve the speed limit on narrow roads in residential areas to 30 kilometers per hour by September 2026.
