Ex-steel chief seen taking over at Tepco
The government is making final arrangements to appoint Fumio Sudo, an ex-president of steel-maker JFE Holdings Inc., as the next chairman of Tokyo Electric Power Co., which is trying to restructure as it struggles with the Fukushima nuclear crisis, sources said Friday.

It is extremely likely that coolant water injected by fire trucks into the wrecked reactors of the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant immediately after the 2011 catastrophe did not fully reach the cores, Tokyo Electric Power Co. has admitted.

¥100 billion to be allocated for storage of radioactive waste
