Ground level in Mount Hakone volcanic area rises as much as 12 cm
The ground level in the Owakudani hot-spring area of Mount Hakone has risen by up to 12 cm since mid-April, days before volcanic activity intensified in the popular tourist spot, according to a geographical survey institute.

Hakone issues wider map to ease eruption zone fears
To limit damage to tourism from Mount Hakone's surge in volcanic activity, the town of Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, has posted a new "eruption alert level map" on its website to show that only a small part of the popular hot springs resort is off-limits.
