Top-tier newcomer Oshoma was featured in a June 15 episode of “Sumo Prime Time” — the Japan Sumo Association’s official English language YouTube channel.
Despite the Mongolian native only making his makuuchi debut in May, the Hiro Morita-fronted channel went with “Talented sumo warrior aims for ultimate prize” as the video’s title.
To a casual observer that may seem slightly premature, particularly as Oshoma lost to the only two opponents he faced from the upper half of the division during the Summer Basho on his way to a 10-5 record.
