U.S. competitive eating legend Joey Chestnut will face off against fierce rival Takeru Kobayashi in a hot dog eating contest in a new event to be aired live on Netflix, the streamer said Wednesday.
The announcement comes a day after the esoteric world of speed eating contests was rocked by news that Chestnut had been banned from a popular New York event known as Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest.
Improbably, hot dog hero Chestnut was banished from that competition after endorsing a plant-based meat company, but immediately promised his fans via social media that "you'll see me eat again soon!!"
