Dozens of professional photographers from around the world converged on Suzuka Circuit to capture Sunday’s Formula One Japanese Grand Prix for photo agencies, news outlets and other publications.
But they were far outnumbered — and, in some cases, outclassed in equipment — by about 1,000 fans lucky enough to purchase tickets to special photographer sections in the stands surrounding the famous speedway.
From as early as Friday morning’s first practice session, hundreds of camera-wielding F1 fans flocked toward designated areas around the track known for providing dramatic angles to frame cars traveling in excess of 260 kph.
