There was a buzz going around Suzuka Circuit on Thursday, and it wasn’t just the excitement of fans ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix.
A day before the on-track action kicked off, retired former champion Sebastian Vettel invited the 20 current drivers on the F1 grid to make a small contribution in the big fight against global biodiversity loss.
The likes of Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc and Yuki Tsunoda braved a scorching afternoon in Suzuka, Mie Prefecture, to put the finishing touches on Vettel’s latest post-retirement project: “bee hotels.”
