10 a.m. Figure skating, women’s short program: At the 2016 Grand Prix Final, four-time national champion Satoko Miyahara claimed the highest-ever score for Japanese women with 218.33 points. Kaori Sakamoto, in her first season as senior, finished second at last year’s Skate America.
2:05 p.m. Curling, men’s preliminary round; 8:05 p.m. Curling, women’s preliminary round: The last day of the men’s and women’s preliminary rounds. Japan’s men’s team, ranked No. 8 in the world, plays 16th-ranked South Korea, while the No. 6-ranked women face world No. 2 Switzerland. The top four nations advance to the final round.
