The Sunwolves added four more players to their squad ahead of their second season, the Japan-based Super Rugby franchise said Friday.

Props Kanta Higashionna and Yasuo Yamaji, hooker Yusuke Niwai and lock Kazuhiko Usami, all of whom play for Canon Eagles in the Japan Rugby Top League, were added to the 36 players named earlier this week by new head coach Filo Tiatia.

Usami, capped nine times by Japan, was a member of the Sunwolves squad last season but didn't play a game for the franchise.

Higashionna has played four times for Japan, Yamaji made his only appearance for the Brave Blossoms in the win over Georgia on Nov. 12, while Niwai is uncapped.

The Sunwolves open their season on Feb. 25 at Tokyo's Prince Chichibu Memorial Rugby Ground when they take on the defending champions, the Hurricanes from New Zealand.
