The Iwate Big Bulls recently signed basketball Hall of Famer Clyde "The Glide" Drexler's son Adam.
The B. League's second-division Big Bulls are currently 2-12, and the younger Drexler, a 196-cm forward, is expected to make his Iwate debut after the league's current wide bye week.
Adam Drexler, 23, attended Loyola Marymount as a freshman for the 2012-13 academic year and played in 13 games, then transferred to the University of Houston, his father's alma mater. He sat out one season due to NCAA Division I transfer rules.
As a redshirt sophomore in 2014-15, Drexler appeared in 11 games. According to the University of Houston athletic department website, Drexler then left the team due to "personal reasons" that summer.
Clyde Drexler starred for the Cougars during the Phi Slamma Jamma days in the early 1980s. He became a household name in the NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets. He won a title with the Rockets in the 1994-95 season.
The younger Drexler wears No. 22 like his famous father.
