Urawa Reds striker Shinzo Koroki was named the Japan Football Association's third and final overage player for this summer's Rio de Janeiro Olympics on Sunday.

Koroki, pending successful discussions with the player and his club, will join defenders Tsukasa Shiotani (Sanfrecce Hiroshima) and Hiroki Fujiharu (Gamba Osaka) in head coach Makoto Teguramori's team.

"We're currently waiting (to hear back)," said Teguramori, who named his 35-man provisional list on Friday and will trim it down to 18 on July 1.

Koroki, 29, has 16 caps for Japan but no goals. He started his career at Kashima Antlers in 2005 before joining Urawa in 2013, scoring 92 league goals in 297 games in total. He has netted six times in 15 games this term.

Japan will face Nigeria, Colombia and Sweden in Group B in this summer's games.
