The Hiroshima Lightning's epic losing streak reached 29 games on Friday night in a 136-68 defeat to the host Oita Ehime HeatDevils.
The HeatDevils (10-27) led 31-16 after one quarter and took a 58-34 advantage into halftime in Oita.
The hosts pounced on the Lightning (1-34) in the third quarter, outscoring them 46-10 in the 10-minute period.
Oita shot 75 percent from inside the arc, making 39 of 52 shots. The squad canned 16 of 43 3-pointers in the bj-league series opener.
Hiroshima finished with more turnovers (24) than field goals (22).
Tatsuhiko Toshino paced the HeatDevils with 25 points, including 6-for-14 on 3-point attempts. He dished out 15 assists. Yoshihiko Toshino finished with 23 points. Patrick Simon added 19 and Chehales Tapscott scored 14.
Tetsuya Maemura had a team-high 22 points for the Lightning.
