Stephen Curry, who led the Golden State Warriors to their first NBA championship in 40 years last season, made his first visit to Japan on Friday — even though he was only here for around 24 hours — and greeted enthusiastic local hoop fans.
"This my first time in Japan. I'm enjoying myself," said Curry, who was on the Under Armour Roadshow event along with the Baltimore-based sporting goods company's chairman and CEO Kevin Plank, in Tokyo. "I'm very impressed with the city. I hope to see more about the city today and hope to have a very memorable trip."
Curry and Plank landed in Japan on a private jet at about 4 a.m., just hours before the event. While they were here to promote their products, including the player's latest basketball shoes, Curry also held a basketball clinic for some boys and girls.
