WBC bantamweight world champion Shinsuke Yamanaka will face former WBA bantamweight champion Anselmo Moreno at Tokyo's Ota City General Gymnasium on Sept. 22, Teiken Promotions announced on Friday.
Yamanaka (23-0-2) will make his ninth title defense, and Moreno, a Panamanian, will arguably be his toughest opponent compared with the other foes he's faced since becoming a world champion.
The 30-year-old Moreno (35-3-1) defended his WBA title 12 straight times before he lost it due to a sixth-round TKO to Dominican Juan Carlos Payano last September.
