Caio and Shoma Doi scored in the first half and Shuhei Akasaki added a late third as Kashima Antlers put Yokohama F. Marinos to the sword 3-0 in the J. League on Saturday.
Both teams went into the game at Nissan Stadium having already been eliminated from first-stage title contention, but with overall points offering the most favorable route to this year's championship, both sides had plenty to play for.
But the game turned out to be a one-sided affair as Caio established Antlers' superiority with a goal in the eighth minute, before Doi bagged another five minutes before halftime and substitute Akasaki rounded off the scoring in the 84th minute.
