Texas Rangers reliever Kyuji Fujikawa allowed three runs (one earned) on three hits in one inning in his first rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco on Tuesday.

It was Fujikawa's first outing since March 31, when he complained of discomfort in his groin after pitching in a preseason game against his former team, the Chicago Cubs, and was put on the disabled list.

"Physically I am in good condition," said Fujikawa. "I don't think I threw bad pitches."

Fujikawa will not be available to pitch until April 16 at the earliest.

"I am preparing myself to be ready to play at any time," he said.

The right-hander struggled this spring with a 6.43 ERA in seven preseason games.
