New national team manager Vahid Halilhodzic hailed his players' efforts after Tuesday's 5-1 thrashing of Uzbekistan, but warned they will have to prove themselves all over again when he picks his next squad.
Japan routed the Central Asians at Ajinomoto Stadium to give Halilhodzic two wins from his first two games in charge having beaten Tunisia 2-0 in a friendly four days previously, with all five of Tuesday's goals coming from different players.
Halilhodzic used a total of 27 players over the two matches as he seeks to familiarize himself with the Japanese game after less than three weeks in the job, but the Bosnian dismissed the notion that those who did well will walk straight into the starting lineup when World Cup qualifiers begin in June.
