The George Washington men's basketball team fell 90-77 to Temple University in the second round of the postseason NIT on Sunday in Philadelphia.
GW freshman forward Yuta Watanabe scored 15 points in the Colonials' final game of the season. He was 4-for-8 from 3-point range and added an assist, a steal and a blocked shot in 33 minutes.
Top-seeded Temple led 38-30 at halftime.
Fifth-seeded GW (22-13) cut the deficit to three early in the second half, with Watanabe scoring five points in the first couple minutes after the break. An 11-4 Temple spurt then pushed the lead back to double digits, and the Colonials were unable to pull ahead.
