A simple strategy proved to be the right one for the Akita Northern Happinets on Saturday.
They kept feeding the ball to shooting guard Shigehiro Taguchi, and he kept taking — and making — shots.
Taguchi scored a game-high and season-high 30 points on 11-for-18 shooting, including 4-for-6 from 3-point range, in 25 electrifying minutes and the Happinets hammered the visiting Tokyo Cinq Reves 87-58 in their bj-league series opener.
