Led by a trio of 3-point shooting specialists, the visiting Shiga Lakestars halted the Rizing Fukuoka's three-game winning streak on Thursday night, winning the bj-league series opener 95-93.
Shiga's Ray Nixon, a University of Wisconsin product, buried 8 of 13 long-range shots en route to a season-high 24-point performance. Terrance Woodbury sank 4 of 9 3s and finished with a team-best 25 points, and Yu Okada canned 4 of 10 from beyond the arc and had 19 points.
The Lakestars shot 48.5 percent (16-for-33) from 3-point range and snapped a three-game slide.
