George Washington University freshman Yuta Watanabe made his first start of the season on Wednesday in the Colonials' 65-63 loss to Davidson College.
Watanabe, who hails from Kagawa Prefecture, had five points on 1-for-6 shooting, grabbed two rebounds and blocked a shot in 21 minutes.
The 203-cm forward came off the bench in GWU's first 25 games, serving as a productive sixth man. He's averaging 21.3 minutes a game, 6.9 points and 3.5 rebounds for the Atlantic-10 Conference school.
The Colonials are 17-9 overall, 10-2 in the A-10. On Saturday, they travel to face University of Richmond University (14-12, 7-9).
