The Gunma Crane Thunders terminated guard Marcus Morrison's contract on Thursday and signed guard Andre Murray a day later, the bj-league team announced.
Morrison, 30, was arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession on Tuesday at his home in Isesaki, Gunma Prefecture, and has been detained by police, a team spokesman told The Japan Times on Thursday.
Morrison, who attended Middle Tennessee State, averaged 13.0 points in 28 games this season.
The 27-year-old Murray, a Portland State product, suited up for the Bambitious Nara before the All-Star break. He averaged 14.8 points in 28 games.
