Louis Hachimura and Meisei High School came through at the right time — when the championship banner was on the line.
With less than a minute left in the game, big man Hachimura blocked a dunk and then moments later made the game-winning basket by tipping an offensive rebound in to give Meisei a nail-biting 71-69 victory over Fukuoka University Ohori High School in the boys final of the 45th All-Japan High School Tournament at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium on Monday.
With the win, Meisei, of Miyagi Prefecture, completed back-to-back Winter Cup championships, the school's third overall.
