Texas Legends guard Yuki Togashi made his NBA Development League debut on Friday in a 114-106 home loss to the Santa Cruz Warriors.
The 21-year-old Togashi, who hails from Niigata Prefecture, played 4 minutes, 41 seconds, all in the second quarter. He had one steal and one turnover and didn't attempt a shot.
The Legends (2-1) opened their season last weekend.
The 2013-14 bj-league All-Star Game MVP while suiting up for the Akita Northern Happinets, Togashi played for the Dallas Mavericks' NBA Summer League squad and attended the Mavs' preseason camp before being released. He was then chosen in the second round of the D-League draft by Santa Cruz and traded to Texas.
Togashi is aiming to become the second Japanese to reach the NBA. Guard Yuta Tabuse had a four-game stint with the Phoenix Suns a decade ago.
