The Shinshu Brave Warriors on Friday filled a roster vacancy, signing forward/center DeVaughn Washington.

The 25-year-old Washington played 10 games for the NBL's Hyogo Storks to open the 2014-15 season. He averaged 10.9 points and 3.6 rebounds while shooting 35 percent from the field.

A Virginia Beach, Virginia native, Washington played college ball at Ohio University. After turning pro, he has also made stops in France, Turkey, Uruguay and Austria.

The 203-cm Washington appeared in 53 games for the NBL's Kumamoto Volters last season. He averaged 20.0 points and 11.4 rebounds.

Shinshu (4-6) is in seventh place in the 12-team Eastern Conference entering this weekend. The Brave Warriors have lost four of their last six games.

In other news, the Sendai 89ers have terminated forward DeAngelo Hamilton's contract, it was announced on Friday.

The 24-year-old Hamilton played 12 games for the 89ers, but did not compete in last weekend's series against the Toyama Grouses. The University of Washington alum averaged 12.3 points and 8.8 rebounds, including five double-doubles.
