The Fukushima Firebonds overcame a 10-point halftime deficit and snapped an eight-game losing streak on Saturday against the visiting Shimane Susanoo Magic, winning 73-67.
The Firebonds (2-9) outscored the Magic 29-17 in the third quarter to pull ahead 52-50 in Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture.
Guard Masaya Karimata paced Fukushima with 24 points, doled out four assists and made three steals. He sank 6 of 11 3-pointers on the night for the first-year franchise. Backcourt mate Verdell Jones III added 20 points and five assists.
