Sophomore quarterback Ryohei Takahashi completed 19 of 23 passes for 229 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Nihon University Phoenix to a 63-20 triumph over the Keio University Unicorns on Saturday in a Kanto Collegiate League game.
The Phoenix stayed undefeated with a 4-0 record, while the Unicorns suffered back-to-back losses after a 2-0 start.
Before 1,948 fans at Amino Vital Field in Chofu, Tokyo, the defending Kanto champion Phoenix played their best game of the season. Their offense gained 515 yards for nine touchdowns. Nihon Univerity scored on all of its possessions except for one, when it ran out the clock to finish the second quarter.
