Three-time Le Mans winner Andre Lotterer will make his Formula One debut in Belgium this weekend after Caterham announced on Wednesday the German driver would be replacing experienced Japanese Kamui Kobayashi.
The cash-strapped team, which changed ownership in July and is fighting for its future, said the 32-year-old had been brought in to provide more feedback to improve the car's performance.
"The team will benefit from having another experienced driver at the wheel of the car throughout the weekend," Caterham said in a statement.
