Takuya Kawamura scored 33 points, making all 15 free throws, and Michael Parker had 12 points and 18 rebounds as the Wakayama Trians posted a 68-67 overtime win over the Aisin SeaHorses in Game 1 of the NBL Western Conference Finals in Aichi Prefecture on Saturday.
For Aisin, J.R. Sakuragi and rookie Makoto Hiejima racked up 18 points apiece.
In the Eastern Conference Finals, Toshiba's Nick Fazekas, the league MVP of the regular season, had a game-high 27 points to lead the Brave Thunders to a 78-61 victory over the Toyota Alvark in their first game of the series in Tokyo.
Both Wakayama and Toshiba are one win away from advancing to the NBL Finals.
