Kashiwa Reysol's Kim Chang-soo and Han Kook-young were among four J. League players named Thursday to South Korea's squad for the World Cup finals in Brazil.

Kim Jin-soo of Albirex Niigata and Hwang Seok-ho of Sanfrecce Hiroshima were also named, while Mainz striker Koo Ja-cheol and Son Heung-min of Bayer Leverkusen featured among European-based players in the 23-man squad.

Head coach Hong Myung-bo also picked Park Jong-woo, who did not receive a bronze medal for his performance at the London Olympics because he made a political statement after the team's win over Japan in the third-place playoff match.

South Korea has been drawn in first-round Group H against Russia, Belgium and Algeria in Brazil.
