Urawa Reds have lifted their ban on banners and will allow them back from Sunday — but only with advance permission from the club.

The J. League giants on Saturday said they will approve selected banners starting with the game against Vegalta Sendai at Saitama Stadium.

Urawa had forbidden its fans from displaying signs of any kind, both home and away, after being punished for allowing a racist banner on March 8 in a 1-0 win over Sagan Tosu.

The former Asian champions were forced to host Shimizu S-Pulse on March 23 behind closed doors in an unprecedented punishment.
