Ventforet Kofu secured promotion to the J-League first division after just one season in the second tier on Sunday after a 2-2 draw in a top-of-the-table clash with Shonan Bellmare.

Kofu found themselves 2-1 down after Quirino struck in the 51st minute, but Davi equalized for the home side midway through the second half as the Yamanashi club extended their J2 record unbeaten streak to 20 matches.

Kofu improved to 78 points to guarantee themselves one of the two automatic promotion slots. With four games left Kofu are 14 points ahead of Oita Trinita, who moved third behind Shonan (65) after a 2-1 win at fellow promotion chasers JEF United Chiba.
