Hideto Asamura and Ginjiro Sumitani each had two hits and two RBIs as the Seibu Lions padded out their Pacific League lead with a 9-2 win against the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks on Thursday.

A night after staging their first walk-off win of the season, the Lions inflicted more misery to the third-place Hawks by tagging starter Kenji Otonari (12-5) with five runs on eight hits and two walks in 3⅔ innings.

Right-hander Kazuhisa Makita (10-7) put the clamps on Softbank to pick up his 10th victory of the year, allowing one run — none earned — despite issuing five free passes in 6⅔ innings.
