Orix Buffaloes closer Mamoru Kishida will be out for the remainder of the season after he was diagnosed with a thigh injury, pitching coach Nobuyuki Hoshino said Sunday.

The 30-year-old Kishida was removed from the active roster the same day after injuring the adductor muscles in his right hip in a game on Saturday, and will require at least three to four weeks to fully recover, effectively ending his season.

"There's nothing that can be done about an injury," said Hoshino. "The team is going to have to pull together and cover for the loss."

Kishida, whose 33 saves in 2011 were second best in the Pacific League, is 4-2 with 18 saves and a 2.47 ERA this season.
