Tokyo Yakult's Kyohei Muranaka held Central League-leading Yomiuri to two hits through six innings as the Swallows jolted the Giants 6-1 at Tokyo Dome on Sunday.

Muranaka (6-5) allowed a run in 6⅓ innings on four hits and two walks. The lefty struck out three as the Swallows avoided being swept in three games and handed the Giants their first defeat since Aug. 2. He left the game with one out in the seventh with the bases jammed and the Swallows leading 4-0.

Right-hander Tetsuya Yamamoto gave up a single to pinch hitter Yoshitomo Tani, but prevented the Giants from further closing the gap.
