The Los Angeles Angels recalled southpaw Hisanori Takahashi on Tuesday just three days after they sent him to the minors. The turnaround was prompted by an injury to lefty reliever Scott Downs, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a shoulder strain.
"I'm grateful to my teammates for the warm welcome they gave me," said the 37-year-old Takahashi, who is 0-2 this season with a 4.37 ERA in 33 games.
"I'm not going to change anything I do. If I can contribute to the team effort, that will be enough."
