Veteran Serbian bench boss Zoran Kreckovic has been named the Osaka Evessa's new head coach, the bj-league club announced Friday evening.
Kreckovic, 53, has coached pro teams in his native Serbia, as well as in Bulgaria and, most recently, Qatar's Al Sadd squad. He's also served as the Kuwait national team head coach during the past decade.
He becomes the third head coach in Evessa history, following Ryan Blackwell's two-year stint as head coach (2010-12). Kensaku Tennichi led the squad from 2005-10 and won three titles in the bj-league's first three seasons.
The Evessa reached the Final Four in each of their first six seasons, but were eliminated in the Western Conference playoff semifinals in May.
