Gamba Osaka have lured back Brazilian striker Leandro on a one-year loan deal from Qatari club Al Sadd, the J. League first division side announced on Monday.

The 27-year-old Leandro, whose contract runs through June 30 next year, scored 11 goals in 21 league games for Gamba in 2009 before leaving on a mid-season transfer to Al Sadd. He first arrived in Japan in 2005, and has also played for Omiya Ardija and Vissel Kobe.

Gamba can use all the help they can get after the former Asian champions lost 2-1 at home on Saturday to Urawa Reds, a result that saw Masanobu Matsunami's side move into the drop zone in 17th place.

Gamba are away at last-place Consadole Sapporo this weekend.
