Soma Yamauchi pitched seven scoreless innings and Ryosuke Hirata homered as the Chunichi Dragons held off the Seibu Lions 3-2 in interleague action at Nagoya Dome on Saturday.

Hirata hit a two-out, solo drive in the second inning and Masahiro Araki's suicide squeeze followed Yohei Oshima's one-out triple for the second run in the third. Motonobu Tanishige doubled down the right-field line to plate the decisive run in the seventh.

"I was glad to get the opening run for us, and I just hoped that Yamauchi-san would shut them down after that," said Hirata. "I thought it would hit the fence but the ball got some good lift and went over."

Yamauchi (4-2) scattered three hits, struck out four and walked one. Hitoki Iwase worked the ninth for his 15th save. Seibu saw its winning streak end at four games.
