X League's Asahi Beer Silver Star kicker Yoshitaka Sakurai has advanced to the NFL Super Regional Combine, NFL Japan announced earlier this week.
Sakurai was one of the seven Japanese players to participate in the combine, which held at the New York Jets facility in Florham Park, New Jersey, on Feb. 25-26.
According to NFL Japan, Sakurai, 23, missed the longest field-goal attempt at 55 yards, but made four others, while showing good form on kickoffs at the combine.
The Super Regional Combine, which will be held at Detroit's Ford Field between March 29 and 31, will prove a good opportunity to showcase one's skills as numerous NFL scouts are expected to attend the events.
