Right-handed reliever Ryota Igarashi pitched an inning Tuesday in his second Grapefruit League game for the Pittsburgh Pirates, giving up one hit and no runs in a 7-4 victory over the New York Yankees.

Igarashi opened the fourth inning by striking out slugger Andruw Jones and getting Francisco Cervelli on a grounder to third. Outfielder Chris Dickerson singled before Dewayne Wise ended the inning with a popup to center field.

The 32-year-old Igarashi, coming off a disappointing two-year run with the Mets, was signed this offseason to a minor-league contract with an invitation to big-league spring training.
