The Yokohama DeNA BayStars said Wednesday they have agreed to a seven-year contract with Yokohama Stadium for use of the ballpark.

Mobile phone game operator DeNA Co. has reiterated its plans to own the BayStars for a long period of time and keep them in Yokohama after taking over the struggling club from Tokyo Broadcasting System Holdings Inc. for ¥9.5 billion.

"The relationship between the club and the stadium will not end in seven years," DeNA owner Makoto Haruta said. "Without the stadium, our club can't exist."

Based on the latest contract, the club will now pay the stadium 13 percent of revenue from ticket sales, instead of 25 percent up to last year.
