Former Mitsubishi Diamond Dolphins forward Eric Dawson signed a 10-day contract this week with the San Antonio Spurs. The 206-cm veteran forward played 32 minutes on Tuesday in the Spurs' 137-97 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, a game in which Tim Duncan and Tony Parker rested on the bench. The 27-year-old had nine points, six rebounds, one steal and one block in his NBA debut.
Dawson, who has played ball in Slovenia, South Korea and the Dominican Republic, suited up for the NBA Development League's Austin Toros from 2007-12. He averaged 20.4 minutes, 14.1 points and 9.7 rebounds in 30 games for the Diamond Dolphins in the 2009-10 season before returning to Austin.
