Japan striker Tadanari Lee touched down in England on Tuesday to finalize his transfer to Championship leader Southampton.
Lee will undergo a physical and train with the Saints before sorting out his work permit on Jan. 12. The Sanfrecce Hiroshima man will return to Japan once, and is expected to appear for Nigel Adkins' side as early as late January after his visa has been issued.
Lee will be aiming to help Southampton, currently sitting atop the second-tier table, to clinch promotion to the top flight.
"The Premier League is so competitive," Lee said. "I hope I can contribute to the team anyway I can."
