The Baltimore Orioles said Wednesday they have signed former Fukuoka Softbank Hawks left-hander Tsuyoshi Wada to a two-year contract with a club option for 2014.

The contract for the 107-game winner in Japan is worth $8.15 million, MLB.com reported.

"It's been my dream to pitch in the majors since I was in college," Wada said on his personal blog. "I've finally stood on the starting line of my major league career."

Wada went 16-5 with a 1.51 earned run average in 26 starts this past season, helping the Hawks win their first Japan Series title since 2003.

The 30-year-old has a 107-61 career record with a 3.13 ERA in 210 games in nine seasons, all with the Hawks.

In 2010, Wada was named the PL MVP after posting a career-high 17 wins against eight losses.
