Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters pitcher Yu Darvish has received at least one bid through the posting system, Major League Baseball said after Wednesday's 5 p.m. EST deadline.
The amount of the highest bid, but without the club's identity, will be communicated to the Fighters, who then have until next Tuesday at 5 p.m. EST to accept or decline.
If the bid is accepted, the winning MLB club will have a 30-day period of exclusive negotiating rights to work out a deal with Darvish.
