Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters rookie Yuki Saito will see his salary doubled to ¥30 million after re-signing with the Pacific Club on Monday.

"The club thanked me for doing a good job for them this year. I really want to do my best next season," Saito said.

The 23-year-old right-hander posted a 6-6 record with a 2.69 ERA in 19 starts. He was sidelined with an injured left oblique in May.

"I have to accept my level of ability at this stage. Next year, I want to produce better results," said Saito, adding he will focus on building his strength during the offseason to avoid injuries in 2012.

As for his mechanics, he said, "My pitching technique was getting better in the second half of the season. I want to continue down this road."
