Homare Sawa is in line for another soccer honor after leading Japan to the Women's World Cup title this year.

Three Japanese players were shortlisted Wednesday for the Asian Football Confederation's Women's Player of the Year award including Sawa, who won the Golden Boot and Golden Ball awards during the World Cup in Germany, goalkeeper Ayumi Kaihori and midfielder Aya Miyama.

Sawa and Miyama have already been included on a shortlist of 10 candidates for FIFA's Women's World Player of the Year.

Server Djeparov is among six men shortlisted for the AFC player award. The 2008 winner from Uzbekistan is in the running against Iran defender Hadi Aghily, Japan pair Shinji Kagawa and Keisuke Honda and South Korea's Koo Ja Cheol and Yeom Ki Hun.

The awards will be presented at a grand ceremony on Nov. 23 in Kuala Lumpur.
