Takashi Saito will turn 42 next year, but the Japanese reliever has no intention of hanging up his glove just yet.

A night after his Milwaukee Brewers lost 12-6 to the St. Louis Cardinals, failing to reach the World Series, Saito said on Monday he plans to be back in uniform for the 2012 season.

"It won't be easy getting back in shape again for next year, but I definitely want to do it," said Saito, who completed his sixth season in the majors this year. "I want to be back stronger than ever."

Saito missed a chunk of time because of injury shortly after the season opened, but he ended up with a 4-2 record and a 2.03 ERA in 30 appearances for the NL Central champions.
