Yi Jianlian scored 18 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds in the China men's basketball team's 84-58 Group F win over Japan in the second round of the 26th FIBA Asia Championship on Wednesday in Wuhan, China.
China led from start to finish and held a 50-31 edge in rebounds.
Japan shot 20-for-59 from the field. Link Tochigi Brex standout Takuya Kawamura had a team-best 24 points, including 4-for-8 from 3-point range. Kosuke Takeuchi, who had 10 points, was Japan's only other double-digit scorer.
Japan, which hasn't qualified for the Olympics since 1976, faces South Korea in Friday's quarterfinals.
